Steve, a 64-year-old native of San Jose, California, has had a distinguished career and a profound impact on his community. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Emergency Management, Psychology, and from the U.S. Air Force Command General Staff College. Over a span of more than 40 years, Steve served in the United States Marines and Army, both on active duty and in the reserves, within the Special Operations Command and Criminal Investigation Division. His military service included multiple overseas deployments during Operations Desert Storm to Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom, and he has been awarded the Bronze Star, among other distinguished medals. Steve is also a retired supervising law enforcement official with experience in local, state, and federal agencies.
In his civilian life,
Steve played a key role in the development of the Mountain House Community Service District (MHCSD), serving as President, Vice President, and Director at large. MHCSD oversees services such as police, fire, parks and recreation, water management, streets and lights, communications, and waste management. As the principal Director, he worked tirelessly with consultants and staff to establish Mountain House’s in-house fire department. His organizational skills and fiscal management significantly contributed to Mountain House’s recovery from the 2008 housing crisis. Known as a fierce negotiator, Steve fought for Mountain House entitlements with developers, merchant builders, and the county. His civic involvement also extended to founding Mountain House Pack 511 Cub Scouts, coaching flag football for over five years, and leading the MH Military Veterans Group as President.
In 2016, Steve's wife of 28 years, Connie, a former teacher and family marriage therapist, moved with him to El Dorado Hills (EDH) to enjoy a rural environment and better quality of life. Steve and Connie have four adult children and five grandchildren. Their youngest son attended Marina Middle School and graduated from Oak Ridge High School. Since moving to EDH, Steve has served as the Chairperson of the newly formed Landscape and Lighting Assessment District Citizen Advisory Committee (LLAD CAC) within the EDHCSD and established the El Dorado Hills Military Veterans Group. Steve has served as President for the Promontory HOA since 2018. Connie has been active in the El Dorado Union School District’s Standard Instructional Leadership Team (SILT) and leads a women's Bible study group in their community.
I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Board of Directors of the El Dorado Hills Community Services District (CSD). I offer my 40 years of executive leadership, graduate education, and experience in the military, law enforcement, and former President at Mountain House CSD Board. El Dorado Hills is more than just our home; it’s a vibrant rapidly growing community. As your representative, I pledge to listen to your concerns, advocate for your needs, and work tirelessly to ensure that our community remains a safe, welcoming, and enriching place for all residents.
As a candidate for the El Dorado Hills Community Services District (CSD) Board of Directors, I am committed to serving our community with integrity and transparency. My platform focuses on key areas that will benefit our residents:
Join me in building a stronger El Dorado Hills. Together, we can create positive change and ensure a vibrant, inclusive community for all. If I am elected, I intend to donate my entire EDHCSD salary to our youth programs- paying it forward.
I hear the call for duty again and I am here. Lets bring back TACT!
Steve's commitment to civic leadership and service goes beyond mere interest; it is a deep-seated passion to effect positive change. His extensive education and distinguished career are testament to this dedication.
Thank you for considering, but we are not accepting donations. I would be honored to earn your vote.
Thank You
